Who looks after your data
The data controller (under the GDPR and Brazil's LGPD) is Vítor Silva, founder of Silk Oak Studio. For any privacy matter, including exercising your rights, write to privacy@silkoakstudio.com.
What we collect
- Server logs: like any website, the hosting provider keeps technical access logs (such as IP, date, requested page and browser) for security and operation.
- Audience analytics, only if you accept: with Google Analytics, usage data about the site (pages viewed, time on page, where the visit came from, device and browser type, approximate city) and a random identifier stored in cookies (
_gaand_ga_<id>, for up to 2 years). Google Analytics does not store your IP address. Without your yes in the cookie notice, it is not even loaded. - If you write to us: your email address and your message, used only to reply.
The site has no forms, accounts or logins. There are no advertising cookies, social media pixels or other tracking, and the images and fonts come from the site itself.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
- To keep the site running and secure (server logs). Legal basis: our legitimate interest (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f); LGPD, Art. 7, IX).
- To understand how the site is used (Google Analytics), if you accept. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(a), and, in the European Union, the cookie rule of the ePrivacy Directive; LGPD, Art. 7, I), given in the cookie notice and withdrawable at any time.
- To answer you when you write to us. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering your request (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(f); LGPD, Art. 7, IX).
We do not sell or rent data, and we do not use it for advertising.
How long we keep it
- Server logs: for the period the hosting provider uses for security and operation.
- Google Analytics data: 14 months (the account's retention setting); the cookies, up to 2 years in your browser, or until you decline or delete them.
- Your cookie choice: stored only in your browser, for 12 months.
- Emails you send us: while the matter is open, and deleted whenever you ask.
Who we share it with
With Hostinger, which hosts the site and the mailbox, and processes the data solely on our behalf (as a processor). Hostinger may process data on servers outside Brazil and the European Economic Area; in that case, the transfer relies on the safeguards provided for in the GDPR (Chapter V) and the LGPD (Art. 33), such as the standard contractual clauses in Hostinger's data processing agreement.
If you accept analytics cookies, also with Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC), which operates Google Analytics on our behalf. Google may process this data in the United States, on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, in which Google LLC participates, and the standard contractual clauses in the Google Analytics data processing terms.
Apart from that, we only disclose data where a law or an order from a competent authority requires it.
Your rights
At any time and free of charge, you can: ask whether we process your data and access it; correct it; ask for it to be deleted; receive a copy (portability); find out who it was shared with; and withdraw your consent. In the European Union you can also ask us to restrict processing and object to it. Write to privacy@silkoakstudio.com; we answer within 15 days.
To withdraw your cookie consent: use the “Cookies” link in the site footer, or the button below, and choose “No thanks”; the Analytics cookies are deleted.
If you think your data was not handled properly, you can lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country in the European Union or, in Brazil, with the ANPD (gov.br/anpd).
Cookies
The site only stores analytics cookies (Google Analytics) if you accept them in the cookie notice. Otherwise, no cookie is stored. Your choice is kept only in your browser.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date and version at the top change.
